Story

The story is about a bunch of people that live in Los Angeles and they are completely different from one another and yet there is one event that brigs them all together but they don’t realise it. There are around ten main characters and many more side characters involved. Basically it’s a bunch of people getting mixed in the others problems.  

Personal opinions

I like how the story of the movie is sad and complex. It’s like real life. It hasn’t the same concept all most movies do; a poor cute girl gets taken away by an evil thug and the hero comes forth and saves the day in the end, even though that concept is familiar in tons of good movies. Instead it begins with a real life conflict and the story ends with a similar conflict (not really a spoiler). One thing that really bugged me was that this whole movie was entirely based flash backs. In the beginning of the movie, it shows the end that is to come. This in itself wasn”t what bothered me. It was the fact that the movie had no specific timeframe. Many things happened and you never could keep track of a single characters storyline because they switch between the characters storylines so quickly and there are like over ten main characters so the story became confusing. But at the same time it’s good for people to know things really work in Los Angeles. When most people think about Los Angeles, they think about movie stars and luxury. Well, in this movie’s Los Angeles there are no movie stars you run into and there isn’t much luxury anywhere either. I think this explains a little bit of how the real Los Angeles works. I think it also explains an endless conflict between human standpoints in the racial issue. I mean, the movie starts and ends the same way; with the beginning of the unsolvable conflicts.
